Talking video templates

Templates for talking-to-camera videos

You talk to the camera and the template does most of the editing. Voxcene's talking templates frame your clip, cut it into a hook and a point, and keep your voice in. Your captions come out in the template's style.

Templates that suit talking

Four of Voxcene's ten templates carry a voice well. Each one sets its own caption style, so when you caption the video your words already look the part.

  • Soundbite Cut

Box the interview, blur the rest, hit hard

    Reel · 9:16 · 0:20 · captions: Cobalt Pill

Built for a talking clip: wide footage sits boxed in the middle over a blurred copy of itself.

The hook → The point → The reaction → The kicker

  • Story Time

    A beginning, a middle, a cliffhanger

    Story · 9:16 · 0:15 · captions: Paper Note · Free

A storytime to camera, with an 8-second middle for the telling.

Set the scene → What happened → The twist

  • Podcast Clip

The best minute of the conversation

    Landscape · 16:9 · 0:13 · captions: Editorial

Ten seconds of conversation under a show title, then an outro card with your handle.

    The moment → Outro card

  • Hook Reel

Grab them in the first two seconds

    Reel · 9:16 · 0:11 · captions: Bold Highlight · Free

Your best line first, the point, then “Follow for more”.

Your hook → The story → Call to action

01 · Captions

Captions built in, B-roll when you want it

Each template sets a caption style: Cobalt Pill on Soundbite Cut, Paper Note on Story Time and Editorial on Podcast Clip. After the build, open Captions and transcribe the video. Your words appear in that style, timed word by word, in any of 60+ languages, and if you fix a word in the transcript the caption changes with it. You can also switch to any of the 143 styles. More in auto captions.

Templates don't add B-roll of their own. You can put a photo or a cutaway clip in any part, and photos get a slow push so they don't sit frozen. On Premium, Generated B-roll can add still pictures where your words call for them.

  • The template picks the caption style
  • Transcribe once for word-by-word timing
  • Your own sound stays under the music
  • Generated B-roll on Premium, or your own photos

02 · Record

Teleprompter recording

Talking to camera is easier with the words in front of you. Voxcene's teleprompter scrolls your script over the live camera: on the Create tab, under Videos, tap Teleprompter, paste your script and read. Lines you've read turn green; the speed is yours to set, not voice-led.

A teleprompter take opens as its own project, captioned and ready to edit. To record into a template part instead, tap the part and choose Capture now. Voxcene's camera opens on the viewfinder, and the take goes into that part.

  • Free on every plan
  • Text size 22, 28 or 36 · speed 0.5× to 2×
  • Takes up to 5 minutes, 4K, 1080p or 720p
  • Or Capture now, straight into a template part

How it works on iPhone

How to make a talking head video from a template on iPhone

  1. Record yourself

Film a take in the Camera app, or tap Capture now when you choose a part to record into it directly.

  2. Pick a template

On the Templates tab, tap Video templates and choose one. Soundbite Cut and Story Time both suit talking.

  3. Fill the parts

Tap Use my clips, choose your takes part by part, then tap Build.

  4. Caption it

In the editor, open Captions and transcribe the video. The words take on the template's caption style.

  5. Export

Fix any word in the transcript, then tap Export.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What is a talking head video template?

A ready-made edit for a video of someone speaking to camera: where the cuts go, how the speaker is framed, the captions' look and the music under the voice. In Voxcene you drop your own takes into it and the edit is done.

Which Voxcene templates work for talking videos?

Soundbite Cut is built for it: a talking clip boxed over a blurred backdrop, with pill captions. Story Time suits a storytime, Podcast Clip a moment from a conversation, and Hook Reel a quick opinion. Story Time and Hook Reel are free; the other two open on Basic and Premium.

Does the template caption my video automatically?

Not on its own. The template sets the caption style; you transcribe the video in the editor and your words appear in that style, timed word by word. Captioning uses your plan's caption minutes, in any of 60+ languages.

Is my voice kept, or replaced by the template's music?

Kept. Each clip's own sound plays, with the template's track underneath. You can turn the music down or remove it in the editor.

Can the template add B-roll for me?

Not in this version, because the templates have no B-roll of their own. You can put photos or cutaway clips in parts yourself. On Premium, Generated B-roll in AI Studio adds still pictures with a slow zoom where your words call for them.

Can I use the teleprompter with a template?

Not directly: a teleprompter recording opens as its own project, captioned and ready to edit. For a template part, tap Capture now to record a take right into it with Voxcene's camera.

Record one take and see which template fits it.
