Caption fonts
Use your own font for your captions
If your brand has a typeface, your captions can use it too. Upload your own font or pick one from Google Fonts. Voxcene checks that it can write your language before you use it on a video.

01 · Google Fonts
Google Fonts, searched from the app
Plenty of brand typefaces are on Google Fonts. Open a brand, tap Add from Google Fonts and search by name. You don't need to download files to your phone or install a font manager.
Each result shows whether it has the letters of the brand's language. You can still add a face without them using Add anyway, for captions in another language. Voxcene just makes sure you know.
- Search 1,900+ fonts by name
- Each result says if it has your language's letters
- Add anyway, for captions in other languages
- Saved to the brand, ready for every project
02 · Your own
Upload your own font
Got a corporate typeface? Tap Upload a font in your brand and pick the file from Files, whether it's in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or somewhere else. The app takes the font's real name from inside the file and checks that it can write the brand's language.
If it can't, you'll see This font cannot set that language, which beats finding a row of empty boxes in an exported video. Once it's in, apply the brand and the captions use it, both in the preview and in the file you post.
- .ttf or .otf, up to 12 MB
- The real family name is read from the file
- Checked against the brand's language
- The preview and the export use the same face
03 · Built in
Nine fonts built in, every language covered
All of the caption styles are built from nine fonts, and you can move any style onto any of them under Caption font: Inter, Noto Sans, Noto Serif, Fira Sans, Roboto Condensed, Source Sans 3, Manrope, Commissioner and Open Sans. The export burns in the same files, so the preview matches what you post.
When you caption in a script these nine can't write, Voxcene switches to a face that can. That covers Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and more, so the words show up as letters and not boxes. See multilingual subtitles.
- Template default + 9 fonts, on every plan
- Size, Bold and Italic on the row below
- Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai, CJK and more drawn properly
- Greek accents and final sigma set right

FAQ
Questions people ask
Can I use a custom font for captions on iPhone?
Yes. Add the font to a brand by uploading a .ttf or .otf file or picking one from Google Fonts, then apply the brand in the Style panel. The captions use that font in the preview and in the exported video.
Which caption fonts are built in?
Nine, plus Template default: Inter, Noto Sans, Noto Serif, Fira Sans, Roboto Condensed, Source Sans 3, Manrope, Commissioner and Open Sans. They're on every plan, in the Style panel under Caption font.
Can I use Google Fonts?
Yes. Inside a brand, tap Add from Google Fonts and search more than 1,900 families by name. Each result says whether it has your brand language's letters. If one doesn't, you can still add it with Add anyway for captions in other languages.
Why was my font refused?
Because it can't write your brand's language. Voxcene checks the file before saving it. A face missing those letters would show empty boxes in your captions, so you see This font cannot set that language instead. Change the brand's language or choose a face that covers it.
What font files can I upload?
TrueType (.ttf) and OpenType (.otf) files of up to 12 MB. The app takes the font's real name from inside the file, so it doesn't matter what the file itself is called.
Can I pick my uploaded font from the Caption font row?
Not in this version. Your own fonts get to the captions through Brand, and applying a brand sets the captions to its first font. The Caption font row only lists the nine built-in fonts.
Is it free?
The nine built-in fonts work on every plan, Free included. Your own fonts and Google fonts live in a brand kit. Basic includes one brand and Premium includes five.
